Bahrain - What is a reasonable monthly cost of living for family of 5 in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain?

We have been offered a position with my husband’s current employer in Manama, Bahrain. Our family of five has never lived outside of the US though his current work requires extensive travel. We are a one income family, base salary of $100,000 yr USD +/- living in NC. The EXPAT package provides housing, auto, utilities, club membership in addition to the base salary (paid in BHD$), but we have no frame of reference for comparison. What do these things cost per month? We want to live in a compound in a villa 4 or 5 bedrooms in good condition. In the US we own two cars on paid for one financed both reasonable cars. What is a reasonable monthly or yearly salary for a Commercial Director of Sales in logistics? I have been unable to locate a salary/cost of living comparison tool that will allow a North Carolina US to Manama BH. Understanding that the conversion rate is $1BHD to $2.65 USD does very little good for making such a life affecting decision. Any advice, suggestions? Thank you!!!!!!

For a villa in a compound, you will be looking at BD 800 to BD 1000 per month. This is for a decent and good location villa. As for cars, you can either purchase (car prices are cheap because the tax on cars is only 5%), or rent on long-term. Good Japanese cars start from BD 5000.

As for food, do not worry about it as it is very cheap. Also clothing can be very cheap. As for the position you mentioned, I dont think anyone can answer you certainly, salaries range depending on the company itself. For example, Government do not pay much, while banks pay much better.
