Bahraini officials hope of the Formula 1 return to kingdom in near future – Formula 1
The Bahraini officials have stated that they would love to have the Formula 1 world back in the kingdom when the situation is normal. Bahrain Track Official added that the priority is the national issue but F1 race is the time of celebration and hosting
the race is a pleasure.
The statement from the officials comes just in time as the official decision on the Bahrain race this year is due on Sunday ,the 1st of May, by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) boss, Jean Todt, and Formula 1 supremo, Bernie
Ecclestone.
The statement from Bahrain International Circuit chairman, Zayed Rashid Alzayani, said, “We gratefully acknowledge the understanding of Formula One Management and the FIA in what have been difficult times. We also thank the continued support of the international
motorsport community and Formula 1 fans around the world”.
Looking at the current situation of the Kingdom, it is obvious that the race might be cancelled because most teams have shown concern about it. However, Bernie has said that the Bahraini people should be given more time to decide about their future in Formula
1.
Furthermore, a message from a Bahraini activist said that the Formula 1 world should delay their decision to come to Bahrain because the nation cannot afford the race to be reinstated in such crucial situation.
“Bahrain's grand prix is a time of celebration and hosting the race is a source of great pride for Bahrain and Bahrainis. It is a showcase to the world and we look forward to welcoming the teams and drivers and everyone involved in Formula 1 back to Bahrain
in the very near future”, said Rashid.
Bernie has also stated that Bahrain has always been committed to Formula 1 and has produced many good races in the past and will produce something special when the F1 world moves here.
The final decision will be made on Sunday by Todt and Bernie. From the current situation and Bahrain's request, the race might get a place in the last week of November.
