Okay, say an inmates bail is $50,000 & he gets bailed out by the co-signer for 10% of $50,000. Is it true that if the person out on bail loses his/her case.. the co-signer will have to pay the full amount of $50,000?

Also, will the person out on bail be thrown back into jail EVEN though the bail was being paid & the person is going to his court dates?

  1. No.  But only stupid people bother bailing people out.

The money will have to be paid in full if the defendant doesn't show up for court.

  2. You will pay $5,000, the person will get out of jail until their court date.  IF they show up for court, you will SUPPOSEDLY get your money back, whehter they are guilty or not.  But you should ask the county and the bail man to make sure.
