Baily Green becomes the limelight for the Dermot Hughes Toyota Carb Sales Novice Chase at Roscommon
The Dermot Hughes Toyota Carb Sales Novice Chase will be hosted by Roscommon over two miles on Monday, 11th June. Taking part in the race that offers €8,625 prize money is a line-up of seven five-year and older runners.
The most successful at the race course is Baily Green, King’s Theatre’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Dream On Boys. He has been active four times during the new season and out of those his very first victory was in the most recent start that he
undertook.
His seasonal debut was in the Grade 1 Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase on 29th January at Leopardstown over two miles and a furlong. The race was taken away by the 6/4 favourite winner of the race, Flemenstar, who led the runner up of
the race, Gift Of Dgab, by nineteen lengths.
Finishing sixth on the track of seven was Baily Green.
After losing two more races, Baily Green monopolised the fourth start of the season on 21st May at Roscommon. He won the Roscommonracecourse.IE Beginners Chase at Roscommon over two miles.
Baily Green was paired up with D. J. Casey for the race and led the 7/4 favourite runner up of the race, Laganbank, by two and a half lengths. Coming at terms with the third position behind the winner was Silverhand.
He did sacrifice three chances for finally striking a win and is in form for bagging further races.
An entry to look out for is Byerley Bear, Exit To Nowhere’s seven-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare, Miss Kamsy. He claimed the second outing of the new season after failing in the debut. He was the 6/4 favourite winner of the July 13th BBQ
Evening Beginners Chase on 23rd April at Cork over two miles.
Finishing the closest was Ferris Bueller.
His only try at Roscommon on 21st May in the Frank Hannon Memorial Handicap Chase over two miles and five furlongs resulted in Byerley Bear being pulled up from the race.
This means that he really did not get a chance to do justice to the race back then and might swing back for it today.
