Baines has been one of the best Everton players, for the five seasons that he has been a regular with the team. However, the player is currently set to play for England in the upcoming Euro 2012.
Amidst the player’s international campaign, he has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United. The defender is still now so certain about the move, or if it would go through, but he has insisted that he is quite flattered to be linked to one
of the best teams in the world and arguably the best team, over the twenty years of the Premier League.
"The United link is flattering," he told reporters. "There is no harm in people talking about it because it is a great club. But I'm at a great club as well, a club that I love.”
"The focus now is all on the tournament. There's not much time to let other things seep in.”
"It's about getting your head on this http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 for the next six weeks and trying to do the best you can."
He then admitted that it might be hard for him to turn down United, should they come knocking on the door for him.
He added: "Would it be hard to turn United down? I'm not letting my focus shift to that while I am in camp. I'm focused on what I'm doing at the moment.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 is currently United’s first choice left back, but with him getting rather old and his performances detraining, the club is looking to resolve their defensive problems as early as they can.
United have not yet made any inquiries about the defender, but should he manage to put up a decent performance in the Euros, then the team is more than likely going to be coming in with a decent bid, in order to secure Baines’ services.
It is now going to be down to United and just how badly they want to land the defender.
