Bairstow focused on performing well in Test debut – Cricket News Update
Despite emotions running high regarding his Test debut, England’s Jonny Bairstow is focused on adopting a level-headed approach, insisting that he will keep emotions in check and treat it “same as every other day”.
Revealing that playing for England had been an ambition he had cherished since childhood, the right-hander pointed out that it would make it even more special to make his debut at Lord’s.

the 13th father-son duo to play Test cricket for England. “It will be a proud moment if selected, and my family will be very proud.”
However, he was quick to add that he would not let sentiments get in the way of the game, and treat it like any other day on the cricket field.
“(It will be) the same as every other day - there is a guy at the other end with a ball in his hand, and you've got to face it,” he said.
“… at end of day it is another game of cricket ... you can't do anything but face the ball the other guy is going to bowl at you.”
The wicketkeeper batsman, who is due to make his debut against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Cardiff in September 2011, scoring 41 off 21 deliveries. His career currently spans 6 ODIs, during which he has scored a total of
90 runs, at a strike rate of 87.37. In addition, he has also played 6 T20Is, and has a total of 91 runs to his credit, with his highest score being an unbeaten 60.
The right-hander recently played for the England http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 against the West Indies, taking a total of 5 catches, in addition to a 50-run contribution.
Currently the ICC’s top Test team, England will be hosting the West Indies for a series of 3 Test matches, due to begin on May 17, which will be followed by a 3-match ODI series and a single T20.
