Bait-casting question

I just bought my first bait casting reel, I've been practicing with it for the past day, but it keeps back-lashing on me. Does anyone know a website or can someone explain to me how to cast without back-lashing.

The reel has 2 separate drag adjustments.  One for the usual adjustment when the fish pulls too hard and the other to control the line going out and prevent backlash. The second drag is called the free wheel adjustment and how to adjust it should be in the .pdf file below.
