ok, so me and my friend are having a bake sale in 2 weeks.

and so yesturday we made/printed a ton of flyers, and went all around our neighborhood, and just went up to each house and put a flyer in the doorknob. after a while, we started ringing doorbells and telling people about the bake sale.

do you think that was a good idea? should we stick to ringing doorbells or, just put it on their doorknob?

cuz people might get annoyed by doorbells right?

but then me and a diff. friend had a bake sale b4, and we rang doorbells, and we made like $80. :]

  1. I really do not think it is a great idea what so ever because these days and what goes on I dont think people will Buy......I mean really I dont even trust my neighbor!

  2. its okay if you're like in elementary school or a little bit older because people think its cute but it gets annoying if you're a teenager or adult

  3. I think it would depend on your neighborhood.  Where I live, ringing doorbells is an intrusion and we don't like it.  We have lived in neighborhoods where people ring the doorbell all the time and it's no big deal.

Try doing a little market research... ring on a few doorbells, apologize for the intrusion and then ask them if they would have preferred you ringing the bell or if they would've preferred you left materials behind.

Explain to them that you are trying to make a go of your business and you don't want to offend anyone.  But you want to make sure that your message comes across.

I don't think I've ever been outright annoyed by someone ringing my doorbell.
