I want to know what is it like in those places.

I'm moving to ONE of those places in exactly three years. I'd want to know the weather, people, stores, malls, restraunts, recreational and community colleges etc and apartment prices(cheaper the better). And pros and cons about these places.

Lemon Grove is same town with family, but Bakersfield is a bit far, but I heard real estate market is cheaper. True?

Please this would help me out alot. :D Thanks ALOT.

  1. HI! I have lived in Bakersfield for some time now. The weather now is hot!!! Like 105.  But, it will cool down around mid September, the a short fall season and a mild-about 50-60 degree winter.  Most people here are nice and Bako, as some people call it, still has a small town feel.  The east side of town is a little under-developed but still has a fairly decent mall.  In the middle of town there is Valley Plaza Mall.  Good mall-it has Old Navy, Sephora, Lane Bryant, Torrid, etc.  On the West side of town is The Marketplace-they have a great newish movie theater and little shops around it.  In the same area is Rosedale.  That strip of area has a ton of new shops and good food.

I currently go to Bakersfield Community College(on the eastish side) and will transfer to CSUB(Cal State Bakersfield) on the westish side.  They are excellent schools to go to.

A few miles away is Hart Park, and a little further is Lake Isabella.Beaches are about an hour and a half as the mountains.

Well, there is hardly any rain throughout the year and the weather is dry.  Snow-maybe once every 10 years or so.  You can find a nice apartment for around $450-700, depending on your budget and if you want a roommate or not.  Prices for houses are going down.  You can find a nice house for around $100k-$150.

I hope this helps and good luck!
