Bala Sharks Mating?!?!

I have 3 bala sharks in my aquarium. 2 have lighter silver and one has really dark silver. the dark silver bala keeps getting on top of the others-kinda like getting stuck- and just swimming around the tank stuck together. i wanted to know if this is like a mating ritual or just the one trying to show dominance? the darker bala is always the one on top.

I don't think they are mating, it sounds more like schooling behavior and yes maybe territorial.   Apparently bala sharks don't breed well in an aquarium.
