  1. Take an example of a pivorted laod in which both sides have an equal weight which balances, this is a balanced laod. For unbalanced load the weight of a body moves to the postion which have less weight compared to the other.

Or take the pan your using put it at your hand and determime at which position is the pen balancing ie without droping and at which postion the pen is droping easily you will be in the site of determining balanced and unbalanced load.

  2. first of all do u understand the concept of three phase electrical power??

ok well i dunno if u do, but picture this, wt does a load take? Power, in forms of Voltage and Current

in single phase (2 wire systems) a load takes current under the application of voltage from one source

in 3 phase, its actually 3 sources, each shifted 120 degrees from the prior, so for 3 phase loads u will have 3 voltages and 3 currents

now in healthy conditions, that is balanced loads, the currents and voltages of each phase will equal the others of phases in magnitude, while 120 degree shifting is maintained

this way the voltages will sum to zero, so will the currents. u can try it on a scientific calculator, add magnitudes of: first with 0 shift, second with 120 degree shift and third with 240 shift.

but in unbalanced load, these sums will not equal zero. this can occur due to unequal impedances of the three phases, or in other words difference in currents magnitudes or angles

unbalanced loads will cause back flow of current in neutral phase.

i dunno if this is helpful, but i think this is my worst time tryin 2 explain smthn to some1!!!

  3. In electrical signals balanced means differential signalling.  The 2 wires are referenced to each other without reference to ground, while un-balanced is in reference to ground.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balanced_au...
