Balding convinced that Bonfire’s temperament will not be a problem in the Investec Derby
The rumour is that Bonfire’s temperament will affect his performance in the Investec Derby, and he will not be able to tolerate the charged atmosphere on the track,  but his connections seem to think that there is nothing wrong with this fine runner.
The mega-event is scheduled to take place at Epsom on 2nd June, 2012, where he will fight some of the toughest competitors, including the Qipco 2,000 Guineas Stakes' winner, Camelot.
Andrew Balding, his trainer believes that the runner will have a good race as he commented:
"We're just hoping for a good run. The word coming about Camelot is that he can't be beaten so we can't get too excited, but as long as he runs a decent race he'll be thereabouts.”
Balding commented on his charge and stated that his temperament will not be a problem and said:
"I think it's the same for all of them (at Epsom). Nothing worries the horse - he's playful, but he's not a worrier, as such. There's going to be a lot going on on Saturday and it will be a challenge for all of us, not just him.”
The son of Manduro, out of mare, Night Frolic has shown immense potential on a number of occasions including his most recent start, the Group 2 Betfred Dante Stakes, where he trumped the race, and defeated the Roger Varian trained, Ektihaam, by ¾ of
a length.
The three-year-old bay colt also triumphed in his career maiden as he defeated, Cubanita, by 2 lengths in the British Stallion Studs E B F Molson Coors Maiden Stakes at Salisbury in September 2011.
The bay colt has been going through work-outs - which seem to have calmed him down. He was ridden by rider Dan Jocelyn in the training session, which helped his state of mind a great deal.
Jockey Jimmy Fortune will take control of the young runner in the Investec Derby. The horse is in good form as he has proved that time and time again with his stellar performances.

A victory in this race will do wonders for the runner since it will add to his already impressive record.
