Tottenham Hotspur attacker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 has insisted that he would much rather go on and dive, instead of taking a knock to his leg.
Over the course of the last couple of weeks, Gareth Bale has been criticized for diving to get decisions to go his way.
The most notable dive that the player went on to use to secure a decision in Tottenham’s favour, came in the North London derby against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
The player’s leap and tumble were timed to such perfection that the linesman and the referee both felt that it was a penalty. Tottenham did go on to convert from the spot kick, but in the end, the team lost by five goals to two.
Some believe that it was karma that caused Tottenham to lose, because of the way Bale conducted himself.
However, the attacker has gone on to insist that the only reason he takes a tumble is to avoid making contact with defenders and to prevent injuries.
When talking about the situation, the Tottenham player is quoted to have said:  “It's annoying. You have people flying in at you, it's not really diving, you're trying to get out of the way of the challenge if anything.”

“If you stand there you're going to get a whack.”

“Sometimes it looks like you're diving but I think if someone's coming across you, you just try and get out of the way.”
Nonetheless, despite admitting that he tries to get out of the way, Bale still believes that what he does, isn’t exactly diving, but is in fact him just taking precautionary measures to avoid injuries.
He then went on to add: “But because they haven't touched you and you've got out of the way it looks like you're diving.”

“It's a difficult one. You can see why people say you're diving but at the end of the day I'd rather dive than get hurt.”
No matter what way you look at it, what Bale does can only go down as diving, irrelevant of how the player tries to justify his actions.
It is now up to the player to mend his ways, or to move to a sport that doesn’t involve so much contact.
