The Welshman denied diving despite being booked for going down in the second half of the game in an attempt to win his side a free kick. Referee Phil Dowd deemed the incident as simulation and produced a yellow card.
Bale has had a history of going down on the ground far too easily, and he has become notorious for diving. The player however denied this, and claimed that he was clipped by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884.
The Welshman also chose to focus on the victory and Tottenham’s recovery to move up to 5th spot on the league table. The player was delighted with the team’s character to bounce back and recover their form after a string of defeats in the league.
Bale was at the centre of Tottenham’s victory, scoring one goal and assisting the other in the first half. He first rushed down the left wing and crossed a ferocious ball for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062 to tap in, and shortly added the second through a deflected free-kick.
However, the dive perhaps overshadowed the player’s performance and he was quick to clear the air. When asked about the diving incident by reporters, Bale said:
“I thought I got clipped a little bit. Sometimes it happens. You have just got to get on with it.”
The win against Liverpool is Tottenham’s second consecutive victory in the Premier League after a poor run of three successive defeats, one of them coming against bitter local rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. Bale was delighted with the victory and praised manager Andre
Villas-Boas for his impact at the club. He added:
“We are not too far off from where we want to be. There were good results elsewhere for us tonight, which was important. We have to focus on ourselves, focus on game by game, and I think we are improving in every game.”
The player had also scored at the other end through a very unlucky own-goal. Aaron Lennon had attempted a goal-line clearance which hit Bale on the face and went in goal. Speaking about the incident, Bale said:
“I felt like I had been knocked out. It is one of those things you cannot do much about.”
