Tottenham Hotspur’s Welsh star Gareth Bale is expecting a tough encounter against Carlisle City in the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup tonight.
Tottenham are now on a domestic winning run of two games, and will be hoping to keep their momentum going as they take on Carlisle City in the Capital One Cup. The North London club experienced a slow start to their campaign, managing only two victories
so far.
New boss Andre Villas-Boas had to wait and undergo a lot of pressure and scrutiny as he failed to win his first three games in charge. Spurs had thrown away two leads at home against West Brom and Norwich City, and had ended up drawing both games.
The team had been booed off the pitch on two occasions as the fans were starting to lose their patience. Despite signing proven quality players over the summer, the club was struggling to make an impact.
Nerves were settled when Spurs got their first victory in the league against Reading at the Madejski Stadium. This was followed by another home draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 in the Europa League, but the club finally managed its first home win of the season against
Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 this past weekend.
Villas-Boas was a relieved man after he picked up his first home win, and was full of praise for his team. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 was one of the players responsible for the result and had a hand in the goal that gave Tottenham the lead.
The Welshman was deployed at left back for the first half, but quickly moved up to his usual left wing position in the second. This tactic had paid off as the Welshman constantly provided a threat down the left side.
The player is looking forward to the game tonight against Carlisle City, and hopes that his side can continue their winning run and get a result. However, Bale is not underestimating the opposition and expects a tough test tonight.
“It’ll be tough,” Bale said. “It’s one of those games where they have Premier League opposition and they will be 100 per cent fired up to prove they can play against the top teams.”
“We have to show our quality, do a professional http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and try to get the victory.”
