Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has hit out at Liverpool’s Charlie Adam for his reckless tackle that has ruled out the Welshman for at least three weeks.
Both teams faced off in a pre-season friendly in Baltimore, on Saturday which ended in a scoreless draw. The game however turned nasty when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 launched a post-match verbal attack on Liverpool’s midfielder Charlie Adam, blasting him for being reckless
and labelling him a ‘coward’.
Bale fell victim to a late tackle by Adam that has resulted in ankle ligament damage. The injury threatens the Welshman’s start to the Premier League season as he left the stadium on crutches.  The Spurs winger accused Adam of a pre-meditated and calculated
attack and accused him of deliberately targeting him in the game.
This is not the first time that both players have been involved in an incident such as this. Back in the 2010/2011 season, Adam had escaped a Football Association charge after he damaged Bale’s ankle ligaments that ended the player’s season in May 2011 following
a stomp on him, at the White Hart Lane.
The 23-year old winger is no stranger to ankle injuries. The player has been in the treatment rooms far too many times on account of injuries to his ankles, but this time, he is furious and understandably frustrated at being out on the sidelines once again.
In his post-match interview, the speedy Tottenham forward blasted Adam for his tackle.
"He's obviously come for me twice now - and he's got me twice," said Bale.
"From what I've seen of him on pitch, I think he's a bit of a coward.”
"There are pictures on the internet of what he did before when he snapped all my ankle ligaments.”
"I was out for three months that time and one player told me he went out to do the same thing to me again."
Tottenham manager Andre-Villas Boas is also bothered by the incident and is considering reporting the Scotsman to the English Football Association.
Bale added that he was surprised at the fact that Adam did even have the courtesy to come and apologize for his tackle on the Welshman. He then went on to call Adam a coward and said that he won't accept his apology now since it's too late.
