Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gareth Bale spoke to the press about the Charlie Adam incident and said that he wanted to move on from it. The Welshman did however have one lost shot at the Liverpool player.
A late and reckless tackle by Charlie Adam on Sunday had resulted in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 leaving the pre-season friendly game against Liverpool on crutches. The Welshman had sustained ankle ligament damage and it was feared that he would miss the start of the Premier
League campaign.
The player was obviously very furious and frustrated with the tackle and Adam’s failure to apologize after he took out the Welsh winger. He went on to call Adam a coward and even accused the Liverpool player of being deliberate in his actions.
Bale was later joined by manager Andre Villas-Boas and teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player of being jealous of Bale.
Both players have had a turbulent history, with Adam causing damage to the Welshman’s ankle ligaments while at Blackpool in the 2010/2011 season, leaving Bale sidelined for three months.
The winger has however recovered early this time around after it was learnt that he escaped serious injury. Bale started and scored in Spurs’ pre-season game against the New York Red Bulls on Tuesday, much to the surprise of everyone.
Though he wants to move on from the incident, Bale was in no forgiving mood and had this to say about the situation:
"There's been a lot of stuff in the media but I'm not paying too much attention to that, I just want to concentrate on my fitness. The most important thing for me is to get match fit.”
"I only trained this morning. I've had ice on it 24/7. I wanted to be fit for this game, I know there's not too many games left in pre-season and I wanted to get some minutes on the pitch. I was a bit concerned before the game, but then again I wanted to
get my fitness up quicker and get ready for the Premier League season.”
The player took one last swipe at Adam and went on to say that he does not hold a grudge against the Liverpool player, simply because he is not worth his time.
