Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has praised his teammates after their impressive 0-4 Boxing Day victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Aston Villa had earlier travelled to Stamford Bridge to face the current European champions, and had ended up on the receiving end of an 8-goal thrashing. Villa faced a considerably feat when they hosted Tottenham at their home after only 4 days.
The first half ended in a deadlock, but Tottenham came up on top after the interval. They had dominated the midfield and had bossed around the Villa back line and their midfield players. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert had made early changes, which did show promise but eventually
proved fruitless as the visitors scored 4 goals in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 scored his first ever Premier League hat-trick to round up the game and secure the 3 points for manager Andre Villas-Boas.
It was Bale who stood out in the game with his dazzling and tenacious performance. However, the Welshman was full of praise for his teammates, and acknowledged their hard work and determination to push on and win the clash.
After a tight first half, Tottenham turned up the heat following the interval, and Bale acknowledged the difficulty they faced and admitted that both halves were very contrasting. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“The most important thing was that we got the three points. We created a lot of chances and controlled the game in the first half, probably better than the second half when we scored the goals.”
The player then spoke about his first hat-trick in the Premier League and added:
“It was great to get the hat-trick but I couldn’t have done it without the lads. It was a great team performance. It was crucial we got the first goal and the sooner the better. That showed when we scored. We won quite comfortably.”
“It was frustrating but I always believed that if we kept playing like we were, the goals would come.”
