Tottenham Hotspur will be without star attacker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 as manager Villas-Boas has allowed the player to take time off for his family after he became a father for the first time.
The Welsh star was allowed to miss last week’s vital derby encounter with Chelsea in the Premier League after his partner Emma Rhys-Jones went into labour.
The player’s absence did cost Tottenham points as the league leaders ran riot at White Hart Lane and emerged as victors in a 2-4 score line.
Tottenham were also without star midfielder Moussa Dembele, who has been struggling with a recurring hip injury that he picked up while on duty with the Belgian national squad.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 took full advantage of Tottenham’s lack of first team starters, and thrashed the hosts by scoring 4 goals. Tottenham will take on Maribor in tonight’s Europa League encounter, and Bale has once again been excused after Villas-Boas thought the player should spend time with his family.
The Portuguese manager is hopeful that the Welshman will be in top form when he returns for the weekend’s away Premier League fixture against Southampton. Speaking to the press, Villas-Boas said:
“Gareth is allowed to stay with his family at this time. It has been very emotional for him and many of us can associate with what he is experiencing, so it is right for him to take time away. We have no doubts about his mental state when he returns for the Southampton game.”
In other news, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 is a major absence from the squad, and this has further provided fuel to speculation that claims the striker may move away from the club in January.
The manager said that Adebayor was only excluded from the team because he was struggling with a back injury, and played down all exit rumours. He said:
"When we speak about his playing time since he came to the club on a permanent deal, certainly Ade is not a happy player, but the reality is he has been missing lots of games due to injury.”
