  1. Theo is right about the frontspin. I'm sorry but you are limited to just sidespin and backspin. So my question to you is this. Can you hit a fade? A fade and a stop shot are very similar. If you can't hit a fade, it makes it harder but I will tell you how to do it. Being as I have not seen you swing I can't tell you what you are doing wrong. I can only tell you this, to start put the ball back in your stance one ball. Now address the ball with a slightly open clubface. Aim that clubface at your target. Now adjust yourself around that club, Check everything so far and when you are ready swing and take a divot. If you take the divot after impact you are doing it right. If you are spraying chunks of earth around you and your friends and the ball doesn't go very far you are doing it wrong. Now please understand also that these adjustments I wrote here are very subtle adjustments in stance and posture. You can exaggerate them on the range to really get a feel for how and why this works. But in play this is subtle. From 6iron-60 degree you can play htis shot at different magnitudes although be ready for your 6 and 7 irons to one hop and stop instead of just stick right onto the green. Here is a link to a video that might help you a little.

  2. To get back spin you have to swing the club at a certain swing speed and have decent grooves on your clubs. You can't have an 85 swing speed and old clubs and draw the ball back.

  3. Backspin is the result of good solid contact.  play the ball slightly back in your stance. Take a normal swing and the ball will spin.  I've seen this question asked hundreds of times......If it does not spin...then you have not made good contact.     a good player can get backspin on a rock  ( hard ball)

  4. just put the ball up in your stance to hit it higher then you won't have to worry about spin

  5. Use a high spin ball like the Nike One Platinum or Black, put the ball in the back of your stance and hit down on the back of the ball to create the backspin.  A nice wedge also helps(Cleveland CG14 or Titleist Vokey Spin Milled).  Forget front spin.

  6. well, first off you don't put front spin on the ball.  that's impossible.  it gets front spin after the ball lands and releases.  if you're talking about how do you get a ball to release after it lands, then you're just talking about spin control.

to get more spin on the ball, you need a more vertical degree at impact.  meaning, you're downswing will be steeper.  this is easier done when setting the ball back in your stance.

a shallower swing won't get as much spin on the ball, thus allowing the ball to release more when it lands.

    hope this helps!  good luck!
