Ball of fire or something else?UFO?

Question

My father and I were talking about UFO's tonight, and now that I'm home I remember something so strange one night as a child..

I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep, and all of a sudden a bright ball of red/orange went flying past the window and scared me to death!!! Could this be a UFO? It had to be back in 1989 to early 1990s

It was circular, and just looked like fire to me

any ideas??

We've had this mentioned a  lot lately. People on here say it could be "ball lightning". IDK Some others think it might be an orb. Here's a link for ball lightning. Google it..There are more sites about it...and people's experiences with it.

Likely a meteor. I've seen 3 of significant size in my life, the first decades ago and in broad daylight. I can only imagine what it would have looked like at night. A large meteor lit up parts of the eastern US in the early 90s, particularly western PA; got a good look at it as well as another in the mid 70s when one came in over the coast of southern CA.
