  1. We had a burnt ball python dumped on us by a so called friend. We treated the burn with aloe vera too. However keep an eye out for infections starting up!

In the viv replace the usual substrate with clean paper and replace often. If you usually offer a 'bathing' area either remove and only offer a dish with water to drink or replace the water in the bathing tray twice daily at least.

Throw away the heat rock and buy a brand new one preferably with a built in thermostat. Snakes cant feel pain in the same way as humans and mammals so you have to check heat sources daily for faults, prevention is better than cure!

Goodluck and I hope it heals ok

  2. theres this thing called wound healer u can use that o and take out the heat rock

  3. Use should have never used a heat rock because they always cause burns in reptiles. If using a heat rock it should be controlled using a thermostat or a rheostat.

I have heard from many snake owners that you can use 100% all natural Aloe Vera. Use the one that is all natural and not scented or with added oils and stuff like that. You should apply the stuff daily on the burn daily. Your snake may be left with a scar depending on how bad the burn is but will diminish alot after a couple sheds.

  4. throw out that heat rock you should have done your research cuz if you did you would know to NEVER EVER use a heat rock no matter what some moron tells you and snakes may not feel pain like humans do but they can detect heat very well thats the hole reason they thermoregulate because they can tell the difference so i doubt the snake was on that heat rock long before he booked it to the other side of the enclosure try an under tank heat pad they work great for me just keep an eye out for wear cuz that is when they start to get to hott but i would take him to a vet n get what ever antibiotics they can offer if money is not an issue if it is however aloe vera is a good choice aswell as neosporin or even petroleum jelly but keep the layers thin also offering baths is essential and like someone else said throw out the current substrate n use news paper n change it everyday you must keep the burn and the enclosure as clean as possible
