  1. if its a big deep gash it will probably leave a scar

  2. That is the reason why frozen or already dead food is recommended. If the gash is small is will probably heal on its own but if it is bigger you should take it to the vet to see if it has an infection.

  3. Depends on how extensive the gash is.  If your not sure, take it to your vet ASAP.

  4. It depends? What kind of "gash"? Do you mean a bite or scratch? From what kind of animal?

You want help, but is it at all possible for you to provide DETAILS! If it's a little prick from a nail, probably, but if it's a bite or a scratch, she NEEDS to go to the vet! For one, snakes seem to be very intolerant of wounds to their skin, and these wounds can become large and very infectiod! For two, like with any bite, because of the saliva and nails, bites have a way larger chance of becoming infected then other wounds. If not treated right away, infections are very hard to treat on snakes, and bad wounds tend to kill snakes

  5. please do not feed your python live food, only frozen.  this is the end result of feeding live food and can kill your snake.

  6. We would need pictures or a very detailed description of the wound, its location and cause to be able to give a sane answer to your question.

Take your python to the veterinary, only a proffessional can tell you the damage of the wound, check for infection and clean it properly to prevent it, if its not already infected. Your vet might recommend or prescribe antibiotics to help with healing. I am sorry to say however, that if whatever harmed your snake tore scales from her, you'll see the difference even after many sheds. You'll have a chance a better results for her appearance and health if you visit a vet ASAP.

This experience serves to teach stubborn owners that pre-killed or frozen prey is best. I am going to tell you too, that after the bite she may go off feed for a while because she may be stressed or scared.

  7. ok the only reason feeding live is bad is if you are irresponsible about it like leaving it unattended and some people would say it only takes a split second for an accident to happen they are crazy ball pythons are said to have the worse aim of all constrictors and they are also wrong i own 4 they all eat live n they almost NEVER miss the head n in the very rare instance that one does it is unlikely that the food will have a chance to retaliate unless the live food is to large i watch my snakes to make sure they are actually constricting because then it is over the prey cannot do anything other than kick they cannot bite because they are being constricted to tightly and if someone wants to argue that just imagine trying to bite something when you are being costricted in that manner the accidents that happen are when the snake is refusing food and just snapping in defence the snake will eventually just stop snapping and that is when the accidents happen also i know that when feeding f/t it is not uncommon for a scratch to happen n cause swelling and infections
