  1. leave her, dont feed her, dont handle her

keep in mind that she cant see while she is in her pre shedding state, so to have something pick her up while she is unable to see may lead to you getting bitten and it could also stress the snake out.

just keep the humidy levels high by making sure she has a suitable sized water bowl and spray the tank once or twice a day (you could even put in a damp cloth under or over the heat source but that isnt really necessary)

when she has shed it should come off all in one (like a sock) check to see if the eyecaps have come off as this can lead to an infection if the eyecaps are still on the snake

if there are still bits of skin left on her this means the humidity wasnt high enough

you can then put her in a bath to hydrate her skin

dont attemp to pull the skin off yourself as you could damage the snake

just keep the humidity levels high and your snake should be okay :)

  2. You dont have to do anything but raise the humidity to 70%. No bathing, unless after she sheds there is stuck skin. Mist the cage with a waterbottle. Put like tape or something over the top to keep the humidity in, and you should be fine..Just keep that humidity up!

  3. Layton you are a ******* idiot.  First of all it is ball python, second of all shedding doesn't make snakes aggressive, third ball pythons do NOT eat insects.

Anyways, back to the topic letting your snake soak and raising the humidity should do the trick.  The eyes normally turn blue when shedding thats not a problem.

  4. just leave it alone. It's eyes will turn that milky blue and then it will shed. You don't need to help it at all as long as you have the proper humidty set up in the cage. It can shed on it's own just fine

  5. I use to own a Bald Python his name was Monty when they shed means he grew.Very hungry and aggressive at this stage.Do not put your hand,s in the cage attempt to wash him he will strike.Instead put a water bowl in cage he will clean himself.Blue eye,s will change to golden green once shedding is over. They like cricket,s grass hopper,s at this stage nice pet dude.L.B.J.

  6. Shedding snakes don’t usually need to be soaked.  Only if the snake is having a bad shed (it comes off in several pieces instead of one) do they need to be soaked.  Give your snake a week and a half to two weeks to shed on it's own, from the beginning of the shedding process to the end (the beginning is when the snakes tummy turns pinkish).  If your snake is having a bad shed take a plastic box, large enough for your snake to fit in it comfortably.  Get the short boxes for soaking snakes…the box should be about the height to go under a bed.  Drill several small holes along the sides at the top for airflow (this box can also be used as a feeding tub for your snake).  Put about a half inch or an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only a half inch or inch of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.

I seriously doubt if laytonbensingerjr has ever owned a ball python or at least I hope he never did.  The snakes don't get agressive in shed they dont eat crickets or grasshoppers at any point and i cant say that i've seen a snake with green eyes.

    Good luck.

  7. just make sure that he has a water bowl bug enough to fit in, i would also recommend something with rough edges but not to rough so that he can rub against it and shed. Also there is something called shed ez. you can get it at the pet store, it is for a snake when it is shedding, it helps moisten the snake so it doesn't have any trouble shedding. that is what i use for my snake.

  8. You dont help your snake shed, persay.  What you can do is put a rubbermaid box inside of your tank and fill it with peat moss, cut a hole in the top of the lid (free of snags so it doesnt hurt your snake) and moisten it to raise the humidity.  This will help the snake shed.  If it still has been a few days and the snake hasnt shed then you can hold the snake in a warm tub of water.  DO NOT let the head go under- can cause an upper resp. infection.  If your snake does shed, but still has the eye caps then use regular Visine eye drops, 2x a day until the eye caps fall off.  Retained eye caps are very common in balls.  Good Luck!!!

  9. you do not have to do nothing, but keep the humidity up to about 60 to 70%. So that hopefully your python will shed in one piece. If it does not you may have to soak it in a bowl of luke warm water to loosen the rest of the skin. And it will probably want to eat once the shedding process is done.

    I hope this helps
