Ball python with dull, wrinkly scales?

I have a young ball python who has some scales that are dull and wrinkly. Anything I need to be worried about?

  1. Snakes can get infections and that can cause this, Since it is not a shedding issue she could have a bacterial infection she needs a vet check...ours had to have anti biotics for 5 days..

    The snake could be dehydrated, or malnourished.

    It for sure sounds like a trip to the reptile vet should be made.

    It's pretty difficult to tell if it's calcium deficiency, etc., without seeing the snake, and knowing its history of care/feed.

    Your best bet is to take it in.  Reptiles are slow to show signs of illness, and by the time they develop symptoms - it's usually petty progressed.
