  1. http://www.ball-pythons.net/modules.php?...

    lots of facts here.

  2. I have owned a couple ball pythons and I think that they are GREAT pets.  Not only are they gentle and easy to care for, but they are slow moving and they get along with each other....assuming that your first snake is a ball python, as well.

They get upto about 4.5 ft. and eat, at the largest, small rats.  I always fed mine live because I think that it is best for the snake.

They live for a LONG time--about 20 years so they are a definite commitment but well worth it.

    Hope this helps!

  3. Sure they make great pets be it your 1st, 2nd, or 1000th snake.

    As far as facts go...

They are generally very docile and good with children or first time snake owners.

They are fairly unforgiving when it comes to their husbandry needs. If you fail to maintain proper temps and humidity they aren't going to eat for you.

Speaking of eating, during the late fall through early winter they are notorious for refusing to eat anything no matter what you do.

They're slow moving snakes. Unlike corns for example that are everywhere all at once.

They stay fairly small length wise and average between 3.5 to five feet with the female growing larger. They are a bulky snake and get "fat" at least compared to some other snakes of the same size.

I can't rightfully recommend any other snakes to you because I have no idea what you're looking for or interested in.

  4. i think that would be a good idea even if you had 4 or 6 snakes they are always good to have because they stay small and they stay tame i use to have one she never tried to strike me even when there was food in her cage and my hand was still in there she wouldnt bite me she would just wait until i took my hand out

but any way they stay small there very nice and they dont need much room because they are not active as much as other snake so get a 20 gallon and you will be good

  5. ball pythons are great snakes.  they are usually friendly little things...i'm not sure what kind of snake you are used to keeping you said this is a second snake.  ball pythons need their vivarium to be sprayed 2 or 3 times a day to keep the humidity up...temps in the high 80's F for them no more than 93 or so.

i'm not really sure what else to recommend ... what kind of snake do you have now?
