The attacker hung up his boots in October after a spectacular career which saw him win numerous accolades and honours. However, the former Blues’ man claimed that nothing is certain until now, but admitted that the charity game
might be planned for the summer.
The former midfield maestro confirmed that he is open to the idea of the match, and is currently in talks with people to organise it. He said that the date and venue needs to be decided, and he will update his fans about the situation
when there is more to tell.
"It's a fact that I would love to do a farewell game and we are in negotiations," the former Germany national team captain was quoted as saying in an interview.
"But I have to smile, as we do not have a date and no stadium, so nothing is fixed. If there is something to announce at some point, then I'll do it. Anything else is speculation at the moment," the former star added.
"I am of course from Saxony. These are my roots so I would like them to be represented too. Nothing has been decided," he finally concluded.
Ballack further added that he would relish the chance of going back to where he started his playing career. He came from the Free State of Saxony.
