Hi i do ballet and netball but i'm just about to quit netball after 2 years i have just started ballet and i want to start gymnastics and if i like gymnastics i will probably quit ballet after the competition next year so that i can do more gymnastics. Do you think i will be able to balance everything out properly and i would also like to know if gymnasts have stocky body shapes and is there anything i can do at home so when i start gymnastics it would be easier and i can have an advantage oh and by the way i'm about a centimeter off doing the splits

  1. youll be alright

  2. you should be alright but it depends if your doing full or part time from these.

gymnasts have really large shoulders because they use their upper body much more for lifts etc.

  3. female gymnasts of elite level are usually young and have a small build - their careers are over by the time they reach their late teens but if your doing it out of enjoyment then go for it

  4. Ballet and gymnastics both require similar skills - flexibility and strength. So I think you would be able to balance everything out properly. However, even if you continue with gymnastics, don't quit ballet because you will regret the years of experience. Stretch for at least half an hour each day to improve your flexibility.

Another good reason to stick to ballet is it will benefit you with gymnastics since both "sports" require grace and elegance
