  1. brown rice (carb that fills you up) and veggies with tofu is very popular in the ballet world.

    Salads only dark greens (i.e-arugala,spinach)

fruits like blueberries, acai, and BANANA's! takes the lactic acid out of your muscles so you are not as sore or sore at all.

if you want a true ballerina diet and body you just need to eat healthy and work hard in class.

but Be smart about it. Don't starve yourself, remember your body won't work without proper nutrients, and you'll never improve.

Make sure if you're going to change your diet to take a multi-vitamin everyday. this will help TREMENDOUSLY.

    good luck :)

O and DRINK TONS OF WATER!!!!!!! always stay hydrated. smart water or penta is the best it restores your electrolites as well as hydrates.

  2. well go to my pyramid.gov and look at your pyrmid and go by that. eat salad and fruits like blueberrys very healthful and if you can just drink water instead of pop

  3. omg im a ballerina and i really think u should consider eating a LOT of pastas, yogurts, and FILL UP ON WATER!!!

  4. Here is the deal. Dancers should never starve themselves. Getting the right look doesn't matter if you can't dance because you have no fuel. High protein will help you to build back some of the muscle that you have lost during the year. High carb. foods such as pastas and breads will give you the energy you need to dance. Water is extremely important to a dancer. Drink constantly in small amounts (drink before you are thirsty. Thirsty=dehydrated), drinking your daily water all at once doesn't do anything except make you have to pee. Other than that eat healthily. Eat things as suggested in the food pyramid. Be mindful of your body and the messages it sends you. Eat if you are hungry. Good Luck!

  5. Ballerinas don't neccessarily have to eat any differently than anyone else. I've been dancing for thirteen years and honestly it does not matter.

You should try to eat healthy regardless of what you do - but I don't recommend dieting or starving yourself because in the end it's only going to hurt your performance as a dancer.

But yeah I definitely agree that staying hydrated is important! Gatorade isn't always good because of all the sugar but I'm pretty sure Propel is better for you.

  6. eat lots of salads and fruits and veggies. thats all i can think of right now

  7. eat lots of healthy foods: fruits, veggies, wheat, etc.

drink lots of healthy fluids: milk, water, etc.

while at practice drink some gatorade, powerade, etc.

before and after practice you should eat a healthy, wholesome meal

    HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! ♥

  8. eat lean protein like grilled chicken and fish; and eat lots of low fat dairy products like yogurt and 1% milk, because the calcium and vitamin d builds strong bones which a ballerina needs because she is always on her toes and putting a lot of pressure on her bones and joints. eat a lot of fruits and vegetables!  good luck!!!

  9. i dance competitively and we do aloooottttttttt of ballet to help us. you dont really need to eat anything special just stay hydrated and work on the moves and stuff. as long as you work hard and stay healthy...you can eat like me.....(country girl....fried chicken corn bread...all the unhealthy stuff lol i love it.....and i am still in shape for dance)

  10. Hello,

I dont understand what you mean by what foods shoudl you eat? You should be eating healthily anyway and you should not have to change your eating habbits for ballet. You will most likely be dancing alot, so just eat healthily, and eat foods with lots of energy so they keep you full for longer. Also when you start ballet dont be self concsious and compare yourself to others as that will only make you think you are bad. When you are not

    xx

  11. i would really like to help you but i don't know

  12. Just continue eating as you are. I don't really know about your body type, but don't try and get skinnier just cause you want to be like a ballerina. Ballet causes so much stress on your body and uses up so much energy. I have three hours of dance one night after school and eat about two bowls of rice heaped over the top with a butter chicken or sweet and sour sauce which does me fine, then a snack about halfway through and then more food after. Don't try starve yourself. You don't want to become at danger of having eating disorders. Eating healthy doesn't mean eating just veges. It's important to have a balanced diet or your body wont be able to deal with the stress of ballet.

  13. It's not all about what you eat really.

Exercise is key as well! Even just playing dance dance revolution for an hour a day helps haha.

But since we are talking about eating, buy everything you eat "Low fat" Or "Light" The taste isn't different at all and it makes it easyer to stick to your diet. Get ready to count, count, count, those calories. You'll find yourself obsessed with counting. For breakfest, stick to a tastey Light Yogurt, instead of Pancakes and Bacon. Ect.
