What would you do? Start training with a flexed foot or keep with your original training with a pointed foot?

Keep dancing!

  1. omg i would totally freak out i might quit dancing flexed feet disgust me!!! like the one person on sytycd where you even heard mary say pointe ur toes girl! omg i would die!!!!!!

  2. I bet a lot of dancers wouldn't change their ways, because the pointed toe is so much more graceful.  You'd have to argue for a long time before you'd persuade me that a flexed foot can produce graceful movements, or an elegant line!

  3. I think I would have a nervous break down lol.

I guess I would learn how to dance with a flexed foot, but I think I would still dance with a pointed foot it is just so much more grace full :)

Good with all of your dancing and pointe your toes :)

  4. now, we wear TOE shoes because we POINT and dance on our TOES, so what do we dance on once the foot becomes flexed? the heel?

oh, i suppose that we would have to be fitted for our heel shoes, tie the rest of the foot and ankle up in shoe ribbon, and plie by rolling down from the heel to the toe.

dance supply manufacturers will profit greatly making heel tape and jelly heels and gel heel spacers.

in jumps, we land HEEL first and put our toes down when we plie.

    etc. etc.\

i think i'll stick to pointing...

  5. id do whatever i had to do to be the best!

even if i had to flex the foot.....

  6. It would probably be important to know both, as choreography can differ so much. Think about it, a lot of modern involves a flexed foot, especially on extensions, which involves a whole enw set of muscles.

    Very good question!

  7. well we have been trained in modern where u have to use a flexed foot a lot so we are partially used to flexing, but in ballet it would freak me out so i would stay pointing feet< its the classical ballet way.
