Ballista with competitive advantage in the Bettor.Com Betting Exchange Handicap
The Class 4 Bettor.Com Betting Exchange Handicap has been able to pull together a moderately competitive line-up only. The race will be held over seven furlongs and fifty yards on Monday, 30th July at Ayr. Taking part for the £4,205 prize money race are seven three-years and above runners.
Given the level of competition, the 5 to 2 odds go in the favour of Majestic Missile’s four-year-old bay gelding, Ballista, as his performance is relatively better than the rest of the lot competing today.
The bay gelding has raced five times during the new season and has improved drastically just after the seasonal debut. The seasonal debut success for the four-year-old was in the Follow Us On Facebook And Twitter Selling Stakes on 25th May, 2012 at Catterick over seven furlongs.
The favourite entry of the race, Ballista, stayed prominent throughout by being in the lead for the first furlong after breaking from the eighth stall. Riding with jockey, Graham Gibbons, the bay gelding joined the cluster of the leaders and headed front when there remained four more furlongs to go.
By the time the first five furlongs were down, he drew clear and finished comfortably by the margin of four lengths. Cathcart Castle finished as the runner-up while the third spot behind the winner was filled up by, Oakbrook.
The composure of the four-year-old out of mare, Ancient Secret, stumbled when racing the very next time after the victory. The Irish bay gelding ended sixth in the Totepool Mobile Text Tote To 89660 Handicap on 2nd June, 2012 at Catterick over seven furlongs.
The race was won by the favourite entry, Powerful Presence, who escaped defeat by a slight neck’s margin.
The last two races of the Sj Partnership bred ended with getting placed third.
Ballista finished third after the winner in the Sis Live Claiming Stakes on 21st June, 2012 at Ripon race course over six furlong. Getting entitled to the prize money was the favourite entry, Tajneed.
Tom Dascombe’s trainee's next stop was in the Stobart Management Development Program Handicap on 29th June, 2012 at Chester over seven furlongs.
The ride for jockey, Richard Kingscote, has improved and displayed consistency which has surged his chances for grabbing the opportunity today.
