  1. Is this just for a class?

How good are you? Nothing like drawing a lot of attention with a fancy outfit if you have two left feet.

Not trying to be mean or anything.

  2. search it on google

  3. I take it you're just going to a class? If so, wear something that you feel comfortable in and that you can move in. Jeans aren't usually great, as they restrict your movement, and tops that fall down easily or ride up, etc, should be avoided. Having said that, if you are going to a beginners class then it really doesn't matter what you wear as you shouldn't be doing anything that requires a great amount of movement in the first week. When you're there have a look at what everyone else is wearing and then you'll know how to dress for the next time. For tonight, just try on a couple of outfits and check you can lift your arms/ legs easily and without flashing! As soon as you are there you'll be too busy concentrating to worry about what you're wearing, I promise!

However, shoes are a bit more important. You need to wear shoes that wouldn't normally hurt your feet if you walked in them for the same amount of time as your class lasts (so if it's an hour class, you should be able to walk in the shoes for an hour). Trainers aren't ideal as the rubber soles stick to the floor and they are quite high at the back of the foot so give limited foot movement. Shoes that come off easily or are loose are worse though, as not only do you run the risk of losing your shoe, but you are likely to trip on the shoe or fall out of it, etc.

Hope that helps and have fun!

  4. You haven't even published whether you're male or female, so that's a bit of a challenge. For studio lessons and parties, casual attire is the norm. For men, slacks (not jeans, but what my kids call "dress pants") will be fine, with an oxford-style shirt. Shoes should have a leather sole and heel if at all possible. Rubber (in dancing) is not safe. Jackets are not required or ties expected in most venues.

For ladies, something roughly comparable applies. Whether you wear slacks, skirt, or dress, make sure it doesn't restrict motion. Steps in dancing tend to be somewhat longer than in walking down the street, so you need room. Likewise, those really cute sandals with no back or strap will have your feet screaming in minutes. Leather soles and at least a strap on the back are almost a necessity. Toes, on the other hand, may be either open or closed.

  5. Is this Latin ballroom or Standard waltz and foxtrot. Well of course wear what's comfortable to you. Think of the image you want to create and wear something that boosts your confidence, like your the hottest one out on the dancefloor. Color is pretty important, wear what you look best in, and make sure it's nicely fitted.
