I am a ballroom dancer. I have a question about the levels of ballroom dancing. I have JUST entered the bronze level. How long will it be until I finish the gold level? I have no prior experience.

  1. It really depends on your dancing ability. I know people who have gone from social foundations to broze in a few weeks! I also know people who have been dancing for years and cannot get out of bronze. I attend Fred Astaire and the only gold level student is the owner of the studio, she hasn't become professional though. Your instructor may teach you off the syllabus, mine teaches me some silver patterns. To get the best idea I would talk to your instructor! Keep on dancing!

  2. If you have no prior experience, I'm not sure how you got to the Bronze level. Generally one has to complete Newcomer, Intermediate, and Pre-Bronze classes before getting to Bronze. In a weekly group class setting, the Bronze term usually takes about a year to cover. Ditto for Silver and Gold. Many dancers take longer to progress. If you go the private route or do classes more than once a week, it could be quicker.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
