Question:

Ballroom dancing question?

Hello, so my girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I really want to do something awesome for her. She is a ballet dancer and has dabbled in some ballroom for fun. She really enjoyed the ballroom dancing and I thought that for her birthday I'd get us private lessons with a instructor for an hour or two over a couple of weeks or so. So, my question is...does anyone have any idea of any dance studios in western Massachusetts that offer this kind of thing? I'd really appreciate the help, I don't even know where to start looking. Thanks.

Skip the yellow pages and avoid chains like Arthur Murray or Fred Astire if you have other options. They won't let you to just take a couple of lessons. They are most likely to ask you to buy a package which is expensive and unnecessary, especially for a trained dancer like your gf.

  2. I swear by Google for anything like this. Have you had no luck? Unfortunatley I'm in the UK so I can't really help but I just wanted to say that it's a wonderful present. You must be a good guy!

  3. The yellow pages aren't a bad place to start. You can also try the studio locators at http://www.ballroomdancers.com , http://www.accessdance.com , or on the Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray websites.
