Ballroom lesson wear?

so i have my first ballroom/Latin dance class Saturday and its private lesson because I'm going for competitive.my teacher said for first lesson i should wear "comfortable shoes" but he is going to get me some dance shoes later.what should i wear to the first lesson?

like sweatpants? flat shoes?sneakers?runners...?loose or tight shirt?

any help?

  1. wear tights a leotard and a loose skirt wear sneekers or ballet slippers not flats.

  2. Try to avoid shoes like sneakers, the rubber sole will make it harder to move across the floor, but wear them if you haven't got anything else. As far as clothes go, a fairly tight t-shirt with sweatpants or a skirt is good because it will allow your instructor to see your movement better. Proper ballroom/latin shoes will have a heel, but it's okay to start learning in flat shoes.
