Ballsmania Cup week two preview: Part three
The second week of the Ballsmania Cup gets underway Friday night at Nottingham. Here we look at the final two legs of the Cup.
Ballsmania Cup - Leg 5 (A6)
Rookie racer, Swift Danica, won her first-ever race in leg five of the Ballsmania Cup last week. She’s young, but has looked better and better in each of her four career races. She could finish in the top three with continued improvement. She’ll race from
trap one.
Corleones Donna, another rookie, drew trap two. This will be her first official race, making her difficult to judge.
In trap three is Forza Melody. After four straight races with fifth place or worse finishes, she’s taken second and first in her last two. She has a lot of experience, and could use it against the youth around her.
Another veteran will go from trap four in Angies Best. He’ll be the race favourite after finishing second in his past two, and first in the race before that.
Amelia Mac has finished last in his last five races, all of them A5. He should improve now that he’s dropped down to A6, but don’t expect a win. He’ll go from trap five.
The sixth trap will house Dreamchaser, another pup looking to make waves. She’s got two races under her belt, a second place finish last weekend, and a first place finish the week before that.
Ballsmania Cup - Leg 6 (A4)
Skyline Bella will race from the first trap in the final leg of this week’s Ballsmania Cup. She’s finished third or better in her last four races, including a victory in her last race. She’s done decently in her recent stint at A3, and should be ready to
win again in this A4 race.
In the second trap is Beechwood Sleet. After fifth and sixth place finishes in two A3 races, Sleet moved to A4 and finished fourth twice. It may be time for this hound to move down another level.
Grace will race from trap three. She has yet to finish below the top three in her career, but she has not yet been tested in an A4 race. She could go into the race as the favourite, but don’t put a fortune on her.
Millie Moonshine will go from trap four as the long shot of the race. She didn’t look good in her last couple of A2 races, but this is an A4 race. She could be a good one to bet on if the odds stay long.
In trap five is Monty Court; he wasn’t winning in A3 races, but looked decent in his only A4 race to date. He led for most of that race, but ended up in third after giving up the lead on the last bend. A strong finish and Court could easily win this race,
or at least finish in the top three.
Gowlane Raider in the sixth trap is another inexperienced hound. He won last week, but will be facing a much tougher group in this one.
