Ballyfoy vying to finish first in Handicap Chase
Ballyfoy is vying to clinch top position in Rundle And Co Handicap Chase that will be held at Cheltenham racecourse today, April 18. The high-stakes contest has £6,256 is prize purse.
When the action begins at 2:35 (GMT), the Gary Moore-trained bay and brown gelding will break from Trap 4 to compete against 15 rivals including River D´or, Ballycarney, Dom D´orgeval, Bob ´n´ You, Gone To Lunch, Gorge, Iron Chancellor, Templer, Battlecry,
Definite Dawn, Red Rouble, Bench Warrent, Frontier Dancer and Plum Pudding.
Ballyfoy’s career is marked with sheer consistency. Since his first appearance in April 2005, the veteran runner has been winning with regular intervals.
During February-March 2007, the brilliant horse bagged a couple of consecutive victories. He went ahead to win a race each in December 2009 and January 2010 consecutively.
The 11-year-old experienced sprinter accomplished two runner-up ranks in a row during March 2012. He went ahead to finish 4th in his last outing on March 17.
Overall, Ballyfoy has won 5 out of his total 23 starts, earning £55,531 as prize money. At the moment, the gifted gelding looks to be awash with form which will surely lend a great hand to him in the coming contest. The hot favourite gelding’s chances to
thrive are as high as 90 percent.
River D´Or and Dom D´Orgeval are also likely to perform well in the pursuit of success.
River D´Or excellently grabbed first position in his last outing on April 3, 2012. Prior to this, the Sophie Leech-trained bay gelding had grabbed a runner-up rank on January 12. As a whole, he has 2 triumphs to his name.
On the other hand, Dom D´Orgeval marvellously clinched a 2nd and a 3rd position in two back-to-back races on March 23 and April 7, 2012 respectively. Out of his total 49 starts, he has won 10.
Each one of these two geldings will pose some serious challenges to Ballyfoy who is required to adopt a meticulous and cautious running strategy. Let us enjoy an amazing action. Good luck to all the runners.
