Ballygodoon Majo likely to win RGOA Members Trophy Race
Ballygodoon Majo has got a solid chance of winning the RGOA Members Trophy Race at Romford in England on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. A cash prize of £116 will be given away to the Grade A2 winner.
Both the speed and stamina will be important in the 400 metres race, which is scheduled to start at 21:25 GMT. Most of the runners, lined up for action, have been struggling for consistency over the past few events, which will make it difficult for the punters
to select their favourite.
However, the conditions suggest that Ballygodoon Majo will be a strong contender for victory, as he has got a lot of experience and has been delivering some decent results over the past few events.
The D. Mullins’ trainee made his debut last year and was a touch inconsistent at the start of his career. However, he started producing some good results, which boosted his confidence and was promoted to a higher class.
In his past five Grade A2 events, Ballygodoon Majo came close to winning, but was unable to do so by small margins. The brindle dog was given a starting price of 5 to 1 in his most recent run and was up against some fierce competitors.
Despite that, the son of Shelbourne Aston out of Lady Geraldine gave a strong performance, as he finished runner up by just a short head distance. His start was not much impressive, but he bounced back well to challenge the winner. He will need an almost
similar run in order to claim the RGOA Members Trophy Race.
On the other hand, there is a chance for Drumcrow Ted to win the race today. He does not have a lot of experience, but certainly has the skills to match the best in the business. However, his recent performances have not been much impressive, which will
discourage the punters from risking money on him.
The P. Young’s trainee has taken part in a few Grade OR events as well, which shows that he has been in pressure situations before. The competition will be comparatively easy for him today, but he will need to be at his best in order to challenge the likes
of Ballygodoon Majo.
