Ballyhank Spirit prominent in the Williamhill.com Stakes
Progressing with the best of the chances in the Grade A4 Williamhill.com Stakes is the two-year-old black b***h, Ballyhank Spirit. The third trap is backed by 4 to 1 odds for the race tonight. The race will be hosted by Newcastle on Tuesday, 18th December.
The R. Kirk trained started racing just this season and struck a back-to-back early on. She won the Grade A3 435 metres flat on 22nd April, 2012 at Pelaw Grange over 435 metres. Breaking from the second trap, the two-year-old did not wait for any other contenders in the field to set the pace. Throwing herself in an early gear, she led from the very first position and made it to the other end of the wire in 26.04 seconds.
Missing the chance by the mark of 3 ½ lengths had the fifth trap, Hurleys Daisy.
The race that was to entitle Scarty Lad’s daughter to a debut hat-trick was missed by her to the fourth position. The Grade A2 435 metres flat race on 28th April, 2012 at Pelaw Grange over 435 metres was won by, No Gamble.
She could not win any race after missing the hat-trick and the trainer, R. Kirk, thinking better of it, drilled her for good four times before she attempted her Grade HP race.
Finishing fifth in that opportunity had her competing in the Grade A5 race in the very next attempt and that had her bagging the winner’s prize money of the race.
The two-year-old out of, Bake And Shake, won the Grade A5 William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV on 14th December, 2012 at Newcastle over 480 metres. Taking off from the third trap, she did not wait for very long to burst into speed and made the transit to the other end of the wire in 29.72 seconds.
Losing the race by the margin of a length was the sixth trap, Westoe Lass.
The favourite entry for the race tonight has already raced and won from the second trap so it will not be a new or challenging.
