Ballyheigue all set for Tellisford Handicap, Lelaps to strike in Fernox TFL Handicap at Sandown
Ballyheigue is likely to build on his recent strike and only a little improvement will be sufficient to take him to the top spot in the Tellisford Handicap, going down at Sandown on Thursday, May 24th.
The class 4 meeting has attracted more than half a dozen entries. There are many strong contestants in the line-up, aiming to pocket the winning cheque worth £4,075.
Ballyheigue is going to face a few big names like, Nice Rose, Flying Trader, Juno The Muffinman, Spanish Fork, Winner´s Wish and Dollar Bill.
Nice Rose and Flying Trader are in good form, but Ballyheigue has a good chance of outsmarting both of them. After failing to make a winning comeback, the 3-year-old did not lose his determination and displayed a superb act last time out.
The audience at Kempton saw him topping the chart by a head’s distance in the Betdaq Mobile Apps Median Auction Maiden Stakes. Brian Meehan’s trainee has got a good surface and therefore, he can bring further improvement in his work.
On the other hand, Nice Rose is full of spirit following a terrific win at Newcastle. Flying Trader was also triumphant in his last outing. The two runners are indeed in good shape, but Ballyheigue’s high confidence is going to prove crucial today.
Fernox TFL Handicap is another class 4 event at Sandown today. The 1m14y meeting has attracted more than a dozen entries, but Lelaps boasts the strongest form in the line-up.
Among his opponents are: Flaxen Flare, Mutafaakir, Takeitfromalady, Daliance, Keepax, Johnno, Jacob Cats, Tight Lipped, Croquembouche, Halling Dancer, Ocean Tempest and Cape Rainbow.
Lelaps, who is making his handicap debut, should prove suited by drop to 1m distance. In his last appearance at Doncaster, the 3-year-old ended up third on the table.
Takeitfromalady is another to consider. The 3-year-old trainee of Ralph Beckett recently made his return on a winning note. On May 7th, the gelding sealed an emphatic win at Windsor. Flaxen Flare was also successful in his recent trip at Windsor.
However, he needs an extra effort to do something today.
According to our predictions, Lelaps and Takeitfromalady are going to battle hard for the top rank. The former of the two will be able to add another win to his tally, if he manages to build on his recent success. Good luck to everyone.
