Ballyhill Subwill – Performance Review – 2012
Ballyhill Subwill is definitely one of the most talented greyhounds currently taking part in racing. He does not have a lot of experience, but his performances have been up to the mark recently. He has represented his team at the highest level of the sport
and will look to continue delivering some solid results with the passage of time.
The young runner has raced at different venues in his career until now and he knows how to adjust in different conditions. This is a very good sign, which shows that he is quite a confident performer and has the ability to tackle pressure.
Although, the Matthews’ trained hound debuted in 2011, yet he did not appear in any competitive event that year. He only participated in one training session, which went really well for him.
He started the next season with another solo run before his team realised that he was capable of fighting in Grade OR contests. Hence, he was sent to compete against the best in the business at the highest level. His first ever experience in this class was
not a bad one, as he managed to finish in third place overall.
Despite not being able to succeed in that event, Ballyhill Subwill did not lose hope and came back strongly next time around, winning his maiden race in this class. This was quite an encouraging factor, as he showed that he was a quick learner.
Since then, Droopys Scolari’s son out of Olympic Audrey has almost been invincible, as his confidence has grown and he has started challenging some of the best runners in the business.
There have been just a few occasions, where the young dog failed to meet the expectations of his team, but that can happen to anyone in racing because of the nature of the sport.
An example of this bad luck was seen in his most recent Grade OR encounter, where he failed to finish on top of the table, despite being rated as the favourite to succeed. He still ended up in third place, which shows that he is always there fighting for
the top-three positions.
This year has certainly been a positive one for Ballyhill Subwill and his fans will be expecting similar performances from him in the years to come, as he is still very young and has got a lot of time to make history.
