Ballymac Ashvill tipped to win Welcome to Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium
Ballymac Ashvill is expected to prevail in the Welcome to Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium at Harold’s Cross in Ireland on Friday, June 15, 2012. The winner of the Grade OR event will be awarded a cash prize of €255.
The 750 yard flat race is scheduled to start at 19:50 GMT and following entries have been confirmed for it: Pigeon Catcher, Ballymac Ashvill, Say Good Morning, Blakefield Prada, Heartland Virus and Cotton Eyed Joe.
Most of the runners in this race have been struggling for form, thus it will not be easy to pick one favourite. However, the longer distance of the event suggests that stamina will be the key factor in determining the winner.
Considering that, the best chances of victory are with Ballymac Ashvill, who might like the conditions at Harold’s Cross. She has not participated in any Grade OR event until now, thus the punters might be a touch hesitant to place bets in her.
The T. Bolton’s trainee is very young, but certainly not inexperienced at all. She has raced in different conditions and is fully aware of how to tackle pressure situations. However, things will not be easy for her, as the lever of competition is quite high
in this class.
Victories have eluded the black and white b***h over the past few months and she will need a special effort in order to finish at the top of the table at Harold’s Cross today. She was unable to deliver a solid show in her most recent outing, finishing fifth
in it. The bookies had awarded her pretty decent odds back then, but she failed to live up to their expectations.
The favourite b***h is the daughter of Green Heat out of Ashville Katie and was born in July 2010.
On the other hand, the bookmakers have shown more confidence in the abilities of Pigeon Catcher, who does not have a lot of experience. He has participated in just four events until now, but has never managed to win any of them.
The Marlin’s trained hound finished runner up in his first ever appearance, but failed to repeat such a show afterwards. However, he seems to have the stamina to match Ballymac Ashvill today.
