Ballymac Eske already paving smooth path for success
Winning final after final is a news that usually a Charlie Lister trained hound will manage generating, but the one who has taken the connections and the crowds by the most pleasant of surprises is the two-year-old fawn dog, Ballymac Eske. He bounced into
the racing career just this season, and has been extra ordinary ever since then.
The two-year-old did not stick to any specific track, and by now has accumulated racing experience at Sheffield, Hall Green, Hove, Monmore, Nottingham and Wimbledon. Gaining so much exposure in matter of just seven months is incredible in itself.
His craving for success was reflected through the first three open races of the career out of which he missed none. Throughout those three attempts he was entered as the favourite, and performed just at par with what he was expected to achieve.
It is norm that the hounds are raced at different graded levels over varying distances before getting to try their luck at the open level, however, just as everything else about him; Ballymac Eske’s first races after the trainings were as challenging and
competitive as a greyhound race gets.
The first final that the two-year-old brought back to B. Draper’s kennel was the Ladbrokes.com 480 Puppies Trophy on 5th July, 2012 at Monmore over 480 metres.
Just four months down the line after joining the career, he went on to the level of the finalists and the place was well deserved.
The success that took off from 13th August was truly incredible. He won the heats, the rounds and the semi-finals before bagging the eventual prize money of the final.
He increased the earnings of the kennel by £7,500 after winning the Caffreys Puppy Classic – Final on 27th August, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Full circle of a month, and Burnpark Champ’s son’s connections celebrated the success of the Coral Greyhound Olympic – Final on 27th September, 2012 at Hove over 515 metres.
His most recent success was in the Betfred Eclipse Trail Stakes at Nottingham on 22nd October. He did not only break the record, but defeated Charlie Lister’s under charge, Jordans Chris, by a highly impressive 7 ¾ lengths.
The hound is already the favourite for the next year’s William Hill Derby.
