Ballymac Rosalin storms to victory in the 380m Grade A3 race
Ballymac Rosalin stormed to victory in the 380 metres Grade A3 race at Crayford on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. She was not the favourite to win, but displayed very good speed, winning a cash prize of £128.
The triumphant greyhound has been doing a decent job in recent times, and the bettors would have put some money on her, even though she was not the favourite to win.
Ballymac Rosalin completed the race distance in 23.58 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. Her starting price was 5 to 1, and she is trained by P. A. Tompsett, who would have been delighted with the outcome of the race.
The race winning b***h is the daughter of Premier Fantasy out of Ballymac Mir and was born in January, 2009.
Second place went to Springwood Chico, who was also not the favourite to win, having a starting price of 6 to 1. He has been performing well recently, but the main concern is that victories have not come his way.
The race at Crayford was the third consecutive time in which, Springwood Chico, ended up being the runner up. He completed the total distance in 23.88 seconds, after popping out from trap number one.
The B. D. O’sullivan trained dog is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Duhallow Lady and was born in March, 2009.
Harlenas Tipp, another greyhound trained by B. D. O’sullivan, completed the race in third place, after entering from trap number three. She gave a tough time to the second placed dog and finished just 0.04 seconds adrift of him.
Harlenas Tipp also had a similar starting price to that of Springwood Chico. She is the daughter of Weatherman out of Princess Harlena and was born in May, 2008.
Fourth and fifth places went to S. J. Gammon’s trained hounds, Droopys Oliver and Horrors Hustler. They had a good starting price of 3 to 1, but failed to make an impression in the race.
Last place went to Stewart Albert, trained by J. J. Luckhurst. He was the favourite to win with a starting price of 5 to 2, but was unable to match any of the participants in the race.
Stewart Albert completed the race distance in 24.33 seconds, after breaking in from trap number five. He is the son of Bocelli out of Campaign Lady, and was born in October, 2009.
