Ballymac Vic in good position to win Townviewfoods.com Champion Stakes Semi-final at Shelbourne Park
Ballymac Vic is all set to show his magic in the third Townviewfoods.com Champion Stakes Semi-final at Shelbourne Park this weekend. Dowling’s charge is in such a brilliant form these days that it is quite easy to declare him favourite for the 550 yards
open race, scheduled to begin at 22:15 (GMT).
The brindle dog made a couple of impressive outings at Tralee before coming to this track. He resumed his Shelbourne Park journey on a high note, winning a similar race in style last weekend.
An early pace helped the hound take a handsome lead in the beginning. He did not make any mistake thereafter, and retained his advantage till the wire. Following an outstanding effort, the son of Kinloch Brae secured the top rank by 5½ lengths.
After such a comprehensive win, the hound is expected to continue his winning journey. According to our calculations, he will easily be able to make it to the finale of Townviewfoods.com Champion Stakes.
Nonetheless, his supporters cannot afford to take anything for granted, as there are many powerful hounds in the crew. Among Ballymac Vic’s rivals are: Razldazl Barack, Eabhas Fantasy, Coolykereen Imp, Barefoot Allstar and Tyrur Mcguigan. The winner of the
semi-final clash will walk away with a cash prize of €300.
Razldazl Barack seems to have the second highest chance of winning. D. Ruth’s trainee is stepping into this battle after two wonderful wins over 575 yards. After a couple of fascinating wins, he should find this trip quite easier, but a dangerous line-up
is waiting for him.
Eabhas Fantasy was not impressive in the recent trials. Moreover, it is hard to recommend him after his fifth place last time out. Coolykereen Imp won a similar race in April, but it would be a different ball game tonight.
Barefoot Allstar will have to come up with something special in order to win. Brett Lee’s out-of-form son, Tyrur Mcguigan, does not have any chance whatsoever.
We predict a close battle between Razldazl Barack and Ballymac Vic. The latter has a lot better record over this distance and thus, the punters should not be reluctant to prefer him.
