Ballymac William eases to victory in the Bookmakers Midi 550m race

Ballymac William took a comfortable victory in the Bookmakers Midi 550 metres Open Race at Henlow on Thursday, January 19, 2012. His victory earned him a cash prize of £150.
The triumphant dog has been in impressive form over the past few months, and landed many victories to his name since making his debut in, 2009. He was the favourite to win yesterday’s event with a starting price of 5 to 4.
Ballymac William did not disappoint the bettors, winning the race by a good margin. He completed the race distance in 34.78 seconds, after breaking in from trap number five.
The D Childs trained dog did not allow anyone to come close, and displayed excellent speed in the event. He was the only one to finish the race inside the 34 seconds barrier. He is the son of Magical Captain out of Ballymac Floss, and was born in April,
2008.
Westmead Aouita ended the race in a distant second place, after popping out from trap number four. He clocked a total time of 35.08 seconds, and had a starting price of 5 to 1.
The N Savva trained dog had good speed, but lacked the stamina to match the race winner in the end. He was the youngest of all in the race, born in February, 2010. He was born to Droopys Vieri out of Westmead Aoifa.
Third place went to Loughside Joe, who completed the overall distance in 35.25 seconds, after breaking in from trap number one. He had a starting price of 9 to 1, but failed to match the top two finishers.
Loughside Joe, trained by D B Whitton, is the son of Wesmead Hawk, out of Florida Penny and was born in October, 2009.
Munster Champ finished the race in fourth place. He covered the total distance in 35.36 seconds, after going in from trap number six. His starting price was 9 to 4, and did not really manage to make an impression in the end.
The fourth placed hound is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Droopys Nectar, and was born in February, 2008.
Young Vicarious and Droopys Suzanne completed the order of finish, completing the race in fifth and sixth, respectively. They had a close battle against each other, but failed to challenge the front runners.
There were no surprises in this race as well, as the favourite hound ended on top.
