Ballyoak Lord to recompose for the Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 3
The two-year-old, Ballyoak Lord is expected to switch forms for the Grade A5 Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 3 on Wednesday, 8th August at Romford over 400 metres flat. His dominance will be challenged by Scolari Bluestar, Finlays Best, Regal Duke, Racenight Reale and Tanters Kate. The winner of the race will get to take home the £112 prize money.
The two-year-old does have the 2011 dates on his profile, but it was actually in 2012 that he started racing. In 2011, there came in a training session and a race that the black hound missed. He has raced at Poole and Romford.
Claiming a race after rolling into the new season did become a problem for the two-year-old as he missed the five races of the season. A shift from the 450 metres distance to 250 metres at the same race course got him bagging the race.
On 3rd March, 2012, he won a 250 metres race at Poole while leading by just a head’s mark. The four-year-old won the race in 15.40 seconds. Not compromising on the lead, taking the middle and then racing wide had him setting Roxy King as the runner-up.
The next two races showed lack of conviction but the A. Ingram trained paced in on rushing back to form and striking a back-to-back at Poole over 450 metres and then over 400 metres at Romford.
Slacking off on victories for the next two races saw Tyrur Hestor’s son tossing a hat-trick on the record.
The final leg of the threesome was in the Grade A6 400 metres flat race on 31st May, 2012 at Romford.
The collective favourite raced away quickly, switched from middle to wide and did not let go off the lead, consequently settling the track distance in 24.87 seconds, and winning by the margin of ¾ of a length.
The last success story of the black son out of, Ballymac Pepper, was in the Grade A5 400 metres flat race at Romford on 9th July. He concluded the race in 24.96 seconds, and led by a slight head’s margin.
Ballyoak Lord is being sent in with 9 to 2 chances for the race tonight.
