Balmi Blue expected to create upset in Coral Supports Macmillan Cancer at Romford
Balmi Blue was pretty impressive on marathon bow last month and despite failing to do anything special in his last two appearances, D. Mullins’ trainee has a good chance of stealing the show in Coral Supports Macmillan Cancer,
a 750 metres flat race, taking place at Romford on Friday, June 8th.
The Open race is scheduled to begin at 22:40 (GMT). Among Balmi Blue’s opponents are: Aero Gaga, Ayamzagirl, Bubbly Blues, Vivas Reason and Monleek Amigo. The champion hound will walk away with a purse worth £200.
In a 750 metres contest last month, Balmi Blue was flawless all the way through, beating the opponents by 14¾ lengths. After sealing an emphatic win, Duke Special’s son did not relax and continued his good run, winning a 695
metres clash at Hove.
His connections were expecting him to complete his hat-trick, but the hound suddenly lost his rhythm and suffered an embarrassing defeat over 695 metres.
In his most recent outing, he improved his work to some extent, but failed to make the winning equation and as a result, ended up third on the table.
Although his confidence would have been dented by two below par performances, the dashing runner is expected to replicate what he did last month.
On the other hand, Ayamzagirl also looks determined to fancy her chances following a tremendous success lately. After making three unlucky trips at different venues, the white and black b***h unchained the shackles last time,
sealing a classy win over 894 metres at Wimbledon.
Aero Gaga has a terrific track record in this type of events, but since the brindle dog is in poor form these days, it is hard to recommend him for the top prize.
Bubbly Blues blows hot and cold these days and her inconsistency might prevent the punters from supporting her. Monleek Amigo was successful against lesser lights last month and it seems to be a tricky draw for him. Following
a poor effort, Vivas Reason is unlikely to attract many punters tonight.
Aero Gaga and Ayamzagirl are certainly two dangerous runners, but our vote goes to Balmi Blue, who will look to reproduce his winning form over this distance. Good luck to all runners.
