Baltimore Orioles’ Mark Reynolds talks after win over Los Angeles Angels – MLB Update
Mark Reynolds was hitting well on Friday, September 16 against the Los Angeles Angels for the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park in Camden Yards. The star first baseman was without a hit in the last five games. However that situation changed quickly when Reynolds
got his first hit with a home-run off Dan Haren in the bottom of the fifth.
The player was able to bring the O’s to a scoring trail with explosive momentum. He returned in the bottom of the sixth with a double off Haren. His shot got Chris Davis to score later on and he also pulled a run in the inning.
All in all, Reynolds produced two hits in his four at-bats. He scored two runs and managed to swing in a RBI. His batting average has been disappointingly low, this season, at .218 but his ascension to the top looks to be going well. Manager Buck Showalter
was pleased with his performance and the player was passionate about his team’s determination.
"No matter who we're playing, it's good to play good," Reynolds said. "We've played pretty well and hopefully we can keep it up, get some wins here down the stretch and make it interesting for some other teams."
The star was also pleased to see hits come off Haren, who has been someone the star has played with before in one team.
"It's always good [to breakout], especially against a guy like Haren," Reynolds said of ending his losing streak of outs against Haren. "He left a couple of balls up and I think he was struggling with his command today, with his cutter."
The Orioles may not be looking to win anything this season but they are trying their best to give every team they go up against, a hard time. Reynolds is developing with the bat and he is looking to get his act straight before the action ends in the regular
season. It will be interesting to see how the Orioles carry their winning momentum for the remainder of the regular season.
