Baltimore Orioles defeat Chicago White Sox 5-3 - MLB Update
Baltimore Orioles defeated Chicago White Sox 5-3 at the U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, April 19 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
Jason Hammel displayed some high quality pitching skills as he struck out ten and Jim Johnson also made a valiant effort to help his team beat Chicago 5-3. Adam Jones hit his 5th home run of the season and he also had an RBI double. He will be
looking to continue his sensational form throughout the season to help Baltimore make it to the post season.
"Safety is our No. 1 concern and we are happy that the child is fine," White Sox Scott Reifert said. "Obviously it was a non-issue for Dayan who was able to field the kid cleanly. But going on the field is stuff we do take seriously. It's not something we
condone in any way”.
"I wasn't trying to make it as dramatic as I did," Johnson said. "It's good to get three out of four here."
The Orioles have looked in stunning form since the start of their four match series with the White Sox. Buck Showalter and his men continued their domination in the finale as well to secure an emphatic 3-1 series victory.
Showing great composure, temperament and mental strength, the Orioles out classed their opponents in almost all departments in the opener. Orioles’ ability to handle the pressure proved to be very handy in the following game as they clinched a thrilling
3-2 win to take an impassable 2-0 lead in the series.
Chicago White Sox displayed some high quality baseball skills in third game to restore some of their lost pride but they were unable to stop the Orioles from earning a well deserved series triumph.
With their win on Thursday evening, the Orioles have also improved their regular season record to 8-5. The White Sox will be disappointed to lose their home series in a forgettable fashion. When they thrashed the Orioles 8-1 in third game, it seemed as if
they will end the series on high note but that did not turn out to be the case.
